¡Ay Caramba! (album)
¡Ay Caramba! is the 2006, high energy, release from Ska Cubano, off, U.S. based, independent, Cumbancha. The album mixes familiar Jamaican ska, Afro-Cuban son, retro-swing, salsa and Colombian cumbia. The lively mix generates a sound that induces movement within the listener. "Ay Caramba possesses the grainy authenticism of goodtimey Ska, just before the euphoria of Jamaican independence subsided, full of tall tales, late-nite shebeens, rum, and rhumba."[Notes 1] Much of the album's success stems from the mixing of two, well known, tropical sounds- Jamaican and Cuban.
