1mg
1mg is an Indian online marketplace for medicines, medical devices, medical appointments and diagnostic tests.[1] 1mg was founded in 2015 by Prashant Tandon, Gaurav Agarwal and Vikas Chauhan.[2]The company was formerly known as HealthKartPlus.[3][4][5]
Competition
1mg competes with other online pharmacies like Amazon, Reliance-Netmeds, and Medlife-Pharmeasy[6][7]
Controversy
Delhi High Court in December 2018 imposed a ban on online medicine sales applicable to 1mg and others. The public interest litigation (PIL) was filed by a dermatologist Zaheer Ahmed.[8] The petition said that the online sales of drugs was illegal and a health risk.[9] 1mg responded to court claiming that online pharmacies were similar to Ola, Uber and Swiggy - other aggregators. The Ban was stayed by Madras High Court in January 2019[10][11]
