2021 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship

The 2021 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship will be the 21st edition of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship, organised by Asia's governing volleyball body, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). It will be hosted by China in 2021. The tournament also serves as part of Asian qualification for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, with the top two nations including winners and runners-up advancing to the qualifying tournaments.

Host selection

During AVC Sports Events Council Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, Asian Volleyball Confederation announced on 11 February 2020 that only one national federation have applied to organize 2021 Asian Women's Championship:[1]

Qualification

Following the AVC regulations, the maximum of 16 teams in all AVC events will be selected by:

  • 1 team for the host nation (China)
  • 10 teams based on the rankings of the previous championship (Asian Women's Championship South Korea 2019)
  • 5 teams from each of 5 zones including West Asia, Central Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania (with a qualification tournament if needed)

For any unused quota, the spot will be reallocated to the next highest ranked nation.
