History
Established in 2016, 800 Pound Gorilla was started by comedy managers Ryan Bitzer & Damion Greiman, who saw an opportunity to bring modern strategies, consumer targeting, digital marketing and fan engagement to the comedy space.
In 2019, 800 Pound Gorilla Records partnered with Robert Kelly's Podcast Network and The Laugh Button to launch the new record label TLB Records. The first release on that label was comedian Mike Feeney's ‘Rage Against the Routine’.[2]
In October 2020, 800 Pound Gorilla partnered with former Broadcast Music executive Jim King to found Spoken Giants, a royalty administration company specifically for creators of spoken word copyrights.[3] The company represents hundreds of members, including Lewis Black, Dan Cummins, Gerry Dee, Pete Holmes, Kyle Kinane, Kathleen Madigan, the Ralphie May Estate, Leanne Morgan, Theo Von, among others.[4]
