Adolf Schrödter
Adolf Schrödter (June 28, 1805, Schwedt – December 9, 1875, Karlsruhe[1][2]) was a German painter and illustrator. He acquired a reputation as a genre painter and member of the Düsseldorf school of painting,[1] and illustrated such works as Till Eulenspiegel.[3] He was also a pioneer in German comics. In 1848 he published Herr Piepmeyer, a comic book written by Johann Hermann Detmold.[4][5]
