Antenna Software

Antenna Software was a business mobility solutions provider with headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey and offices in Guildford, Bangalore, Seoul, Boston, Toronto and Kraków. Founded in 1998,[1] the company was acquired by Pegasystems in 2013.[2]

Antenna's core product was the Antenna Mobility Platform (AMP), which won the GSMA Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Enterprise Solution at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.[3] A later iteration of AMP was branded AMPchroma, and launched in February 2012.[4] Antenna claimed that AMPchroma was capable of supporting "the full lifecycle" of mobile apps, websites and storefronts.[5] The platform has been subsequently rebranded to Pega AMP.

History

Antenna was founded in 1998 by Peter Semmelhack, who is now the President and CEO of Bug Labs.[6] Semmelhack originally titled the company ‘Antenna Tool & Die’[7] and he envisioned developing “mobile and wireless technology to connect people who worked outside a traditional office…to information and resources no matter where they were.”[8] Semmelhack occupied the positions of Chief Technology Officer and [then] Chairman at the company prior to his departure in April 2006.

James Hemmer led the company starting July 2002.[9]

In February 2011 Antenna acquired mobile Internet software company Volantis. The acquisition gave Antenna access to carrier and enterprise customers of Volantis and to Volantis engineering center located in Kraków.[10]

Thanks to the acquisition Antenna could position itself as an end-to-end mobile solutions provider for a variety of Global 1000 customers,[11] garnering a position in the “Visionaries” quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s Magic Quadrant for Mobile Consumer Application Platforms (MCAP) report in June 2011.[12]

In October 2013 Antenna Software was acquired by Pegasystems.[13]
