Ashish Kumar (boxer)
Ashish Kumar (born 18 July 1994) is an Indian amateur boxer who competes in the middleweight category. He won a silver medal at the 2019 Asian Championships.

Early and personal life
Kumar was born on 18 July 1994 in Dhahotu village, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh.[1] His father Bhagat Ram, a farmer, played kabaddi at the national level. Kumar was inspired by his brothers and cousins to take up boxing.[2][3]
Kumar's father died of an illness in February 2020.[2]
Career
Kumar won the silver medal at the 2019 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in Bangkok in the middleweight category.[4] In March 2020, Kumar reached the semifinals of the 2020 Asia & Oceania Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament in Amman and qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics.[5][6]
