Askari (film)
Askari is a 2001 American drama film written by John Cundill and Ashley Way directed by David Lister with Marlee Matlin, C. Thomas Howell and Amanda Fuller in lead roles.
Plot summary
After the death of her parents, Emma Crawshay (played by Amanda Fuller) is sent to Africa to live with her aunt and uncle Paula and Joss McKinley (Marlee Matlin and C. Thomas Howell), who manage a game reserve. Conflict ensues when a decision is made by Joss's superior Patrick Khumalo (Menzi Ngubane) to conduct an elephant cull, complicated by the appearance of poacher Ripshaw (Ian Roberts) and his aide Ndlovu (Ken Gampu) who, it turns out, have a secret agreement with Joss's superior to share the proceeds of an illegal sale of the tusks.

Echo Bridge Entertainment released a 2-disk DVD compilation which includes Askari, Secret of the Andes, the Australian movie Rabbit Proof Fence and The Gift, Top Enders and Peter and Pompey from the Touch the Sun series of children's TV specials. In 2014 it was no longer available.
