Athena Kugblenu
Athena Ata Kugblenu (born 14 November 1981)[2] is an English stand-up comedienne and writer.[3]

Early life
Kugblenu describes herself as mixed-race: half British Indo-Caribbean and half Ghanaian.[4] She worked as a project manager in London before breaking into comedy.[5]
Career
Kugblenu was nominated for the 2015 BBC New Comedy Award.[6]
In 2017 she performed at the Johannesburg international Comedy Festival and followed that with her debut hour, KMT, at the Edinburgh Fringe.[7]
On television, Kugblenu has appeared on Sam Delaney's News Thing, The Dog Ate My Homework, The Big Night In and Mock the Week and has written for Frankie Boyle's New World Order.
On the radio, she has appeared on The News Quiz and The Museum of Curiosity
Kugblenu hosts the podcast Keeping Athena Company and is a regular cohost on The Guilty Feminist. She has also appeared on Richard Herring's Edinburgh Fringe Podcast.[8]
Kugblenu is a member of the BBC Comedy Room 2019/20 and was awarded the BBC Felix Dexter Bursary for BAME up-and-coming comedy writers in 2020.
