Atrangi Re

Atrangi Re is an upcoming Indian romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai and starring Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar.[2] Produced by T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films, it was wrapped up in December 2020 and originally scheduled for worldwide release on 14 February 2021 in theatres, coinciding with Valentine's Day.[1] However, it was indefinitely pushed due to post-production delays owing to COVID-19 pandemic in India.[3]

Production

Atrangi Re was officially announced with a motion poster on 30 January 2020.[4] Khan and Dhanush commenced shoot on 1 March 2020 in Lucknow, before the production got halted in the 3rd week of March due to COVID-19 pandemic in India.[5] Both of them resumed their portions in July 2020, post which Kumar joined the sets on 4 December 2020.[6]

Dhanush and Kumar wrapped up the film in the end of December.[7] Atrangi Re was filmed near Lucknow, Madurai, Delhi, Mumbai, Noida and Agra.[8]

The film score and soundtrack are composed by A. R. Rahman making his second collaboration with Aanand L. Rai after Raanjhanaa, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The first track rendered by Shreya Ghoshal had already been recorded.[10] The film's songs are folk-classical-based compositions.[11]

Dhanush performed a song for the album.[12]
