Attack on the Al-Habboubi Square (2020)
The Al-Haboubi Square attack was a part of the Iraqi uprising that occurred on 27 November 2020. After finished Friday prayer,[1] the armed group Peace Companies attacked civil protesters at the Al-Habboubi Square in Nasiriyah.[2] The attack left 4 civil protesters dead and 70 protesters injured.[3]November 27, 2020 [4] The Peace Companies wanted to recontrol the square and expulsion protesters they was want to need liberal democracy.[5] After the attack, the Iraqi prime minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi dismissed the police chief of the Dhi Qar Governorate Major Hzim Muhammed Al-Waely .[6] Following the clash, a curfew was imposed in the city.
