Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is a state university in India which came into existence by the Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2002. The university is named after saint Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah. The University campus is located at the foothills of the great Himalayan Pir Panjal range in Rajouri, 154 KM from Jammu, the Winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir State.[1]It focuses on undergraduate engineering courses, a diverse post graduate courses and research in fields such as management, environment, biodiversity, bio-technology, computer sciences, information technology, and applied mathematics. Ravindra Kumar Sinha (biologist) is new vice chancellor of this university from 29th Oct, 2020.

Libraries
Central Library, BGSBU works under the supervision of Library Advisory Committee of which Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor is the Chairman. The library as on date stands divided into twelve sections viz. Circulation, Acquisition, Classification, Cataloguing, Periodical, Internet Lab, Reference and Information Services, Stack Area, Reading Room, Newspapers and Magazines, Digital Documents Section, Dissertations and Thesis Section The Library remains open from 900 hrs to 2400 hrs during the weekdays and from 900 hrs to 1700 hrs during weekends and other holidays. The Central Library observes only national holidays. The Central Library as on date maintains a collection of over 45000 documents, including more than 2000 Digital Documents. [2]
