Bachtiar Karim
Bachtiar Karim (born November 5, 1957) is a Chinese-Indonesian businessman. He is the executive chairman of Musim Mas, a Singapore-based company invested in palm oil.[2] Despite his net-worth of 2.6B US dollar as of 2019,[3] he has kept a low profile among Indonesian businessmen.[2][4] He studied in Singapore at the Hwa Chong Junior College and competed a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore.[5]

In 2019, Karim purchased Darby Park Executive Suites (a 6-story residence building in Singapore) for $160 million from Royal Group Holdings Pte Ltd.[6]
Family
His father Anwar Karim founded the Nam Cheong Soap Factory in Medan in 1932.[3][7] He has three siblings: Burhan Karim, Bahari Karim, Bahrum Karim. His family founded an entrepreneur center, which operates in the University of North Sumatra.[7]
