Badi Didi (transl. Elder Sister) is a 1969 Hindi-language drama film, produced by Narendra Suri and Nand Kumar under the Archana Films banner and directed by Narendra Suri. Starring Jeetendra, Nanda and music composed by Ravi.[2][3]

Plot

Bhavana (Nanda) is the daughter of a sincere and worthy Post Master Keshav Prasad (Nasir Hussain). She is grown up along with her cousins Anil & Anita (Aruna Irani). Once, on her college excursion, Bhavana falls for an Army officer Lieutenant Amar Varma (Jeetendra). Unfortunately, they get separated and unable to find each other are. Thereafter, Keshav Prasad is transferred to Shimla where he fixes an alliance for Anita. With the support of his close friend Dayal (Om Prakash) a postman, he makes all arrangements. On the other side, Prof. Dindayal Varma (Ulhas) the tutor of Bhavana wants to wedlock her with his son who is none other than Amar. Keshav Prasad accepts the proposal when Amar & Bhavana has to forcibly face one another. But being aware of reality their happiness summits. During that time, a woman hurriedly approaches, Keshav Prasad, to withdraw money from the post office as her husband is in serious condition. Out of humanitarian consideration, first-time he violates the rules but caught and sentenced. Right now, Bhavana takes responsibility and faces several hardships. Anyhow, with the help of Amar she succeeds in performing the wedding of Anita and graduating Anil. At present, the Indian army declares an emergency, so, Amar pauses the wedding and leaves to the battlefield. During that time, Anil marries his love interest Aarti one that highly humiliates Bhavana. Furthermore, she collapses knowing the death news of Amar on the battlefield. After some time, Dindayal forces her to get marries which she accepts. Here as flabbergast, Amar returns alive and Keshav Prasad is acquitted. At last, Anil & Aarti also plead pardon. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Amar & Bhavana.
