Barrakunda Falls
The Barrakunda Falls or Barra Kunda Falls[1] is a waterfall located in the Tambacounda region in the West African state of Senegal.[2] It's located 500 kilometres (300 mi) upstream from the mouth of the Gambia River. [3][4]
The Portuguese explorer Diogo Gomes was the first European to sail the Gambia up to these rapids in 1457. [2]
