Bhagat Kanwar Ram
Bhagat Kanwar Ram (1885 – 1939)[1] was a Sindhi singer and Sufi poet.[2][3] He was a disciple of saint Satram Das Sahib of Raharki.[4][5] He was born on 13 April 1885 at village Jarwar of Sukkur (Sakhar) district and was assassinated in communal riots in Sukkur in December 1939.[6][7] He was popular in both Hindu and Muslim Sindhi community of Sindh.[8] Commemorative stamp was issued by Indian President Pratibha Patil on 26 April 2010.[9]
Early life
He was son of TirathBai and Tarachand.[10]
Assassination
He was assassinated in sectarian riots near Ruk railway station.[11]
