Break Time (convenience store)

Break Time is a regional chain of convenience stores operated by MFA Oil Company,[1] headquartered in Columbia, Missouri. The first Break Time store launched in 1985. As of January 2020, the convenience store chain has 74 stores across the states of Missouri and Arkansas.

All Break Time locations sell MFA Oil Top Tier gasoline[2] and BOSS diesel fuel.[3] Additionally, nearly half a dozen Break Time locations have a car wash. The convenience store offers a variety of food and drink options, including their proprietary Dashboard Diner sandwiches, Smokestack Bar.B.Q., Krispy Krunchy Chicken, Hunt Brothers Pizza[4] and homemade breakfast sandwiches. The stores also include a beer cave, as well as coffee and cappuccino options.

The Break Time chain is well known for their MyTime Rewards[5] loyalty program. Since 2017, Break Time customers have the opportunity to earn fuel discounts, free drinks, Break Time Bucks and more rewards through their store visits and MyTime Rewards use. The loyalty program is free to enroll and customers can pick up a MyTime Rewards card at any Break Time location that can be registered through the Break Time app.

In 2019, MyTime Rewards earned two industry awards for marketing innovation and program design. In the same year, Convenience Store News and Petroleum ranked Break Time at #91 on their Top 202 Convenience Store Chains list.
