Carson King (born May 10, 1999), better known under the alias CallMeCarson, is an American YouTuber and Twitch streamer. He is also the owner of Pool Hall merchandise.[1] Known for his videos revolving around Minecraft,[2] King created his YouTube channel in 2012 and saw a measurable increase in popularity in the 2010s. In 2019, King became a founding member of Lunch Club, which started off as a podcast group that included a number of prominent YouTubers.[3]

Career

While King created several YouTube channels with little notability prior to his career, he created BlueCrewPros, which would later be renamed to CallMeCarson, on May 10, 2012. King passed 10,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel in April 2018, and passed 1,000,000 subscribers a year later.[4]

King announced he was taking an indefinite break starting from late March 2020, stating that he needed to "take a moment to step away".[5] The hiatus stemmed from the prior revelation that King's girlfriend, "Katerino" on YouTube and Twitch, had been unfaithful to him with another YouTuber, "Fitz", prompting the now highly public break-up.[5][6] King returned from his indefinite break with the posting of a YouTube video on April 23, 2020, in the beginning of which he revealed that he will be posting more videos later that year.[7]

Sexual harassment allegations

On January 4, 2021, a Twitter user named Sam accused King of sexting, sending inappropriate online messages and photos to her when she was 17—two years younger than King. The following day, another Twitter user with the handle "Copiicatt" provided a screenshot of Snapchat messages that were sent in June 2019 between her and King, who were 17 and 20 at the time respectively. A retweet by Daniel "Keemstar" Keem claims to have reached out to Copiicatt to ask if nude photos were exchanged, to which she supposedly replied affirmatively.[8] King began trending on Twitter as the allegations gained traction, and other content creators on the internet have stepped forward to say that King confided to them that he had started sexual relationships with a minor. As of January 31, 2021, King has yet to respond to these allegations publicly or make a public appearance of any kind.[2][8][9][10] In the week between January 1, 2021 to January 7, 2021, King lost over 200,000 subscribers.[4]
