Cliff Winter
Clifford Winter (1884 – 27 October 1918) was a professional football inside left who played in the Football League for Gainsborough Trinity.[1]

Personal life
Winter served as a corporal in the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) during the First World War. He was wounded during the Battle of Cambrai in October 1918, and died of wounds at No. 3 Casualty Clearing Station, Beaulencourt.[2][3] He was buried in Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt.[2]
