Clifford Brangwynne
Clifford Brangwynne is a professor of chemical and biological engineering at Princeton University[1] and a 2018 recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship for his work in bioengineering.[2] In his work he made discoveries about how cellular components called membraneless organelles are formed and the role they play in cells.[3] His articles have appeared in scientific journals including Cell, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Science, Nature Physics and more.[4]
Brangwynne grew up in Boston, Massachusetts[5] and received his BS in material science and engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his PhD in applied physics at Harvard University.[3] He did postdoctoral research in Germany at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and at the Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems.[6]
