Clifton S. Robbins

Cliff Robbins is the founder and CEO of the investment firm Blue Harbour Group[1] and the co-founder of Cohn Robbins Holdings Corp. with former president and chief operating officer of Goldman Sachs Gary D. Cohn.[2][3]

He was featured in the book Barbarians at the Gate for his role in the RJR Nabisco buyout.[4][5]

In 2004, Robbins launched Blue Harbour Group,[6] which generated a 33% net return in 2019.[7] In February 2020, Robbins announced that he would be closing Blue Harbour Group to set up a family office and would return $2 billion of capital to investors.[8]

In July 2020, Robbins and his wife signed a contract to sell their seven-room apartment at 778 Park Avenue to former American Express CEO, James D. Robinson III. [9]

In August 2020, Cohn Robbins Holdings Corp., launched by Robbins and Gary D. Cohn and based in Wilmington, Delaware, filed with the SEC to hold an initial public offering to raise $720 million in equity capital.[10][11]

Robbins is a frequent guest speaker and member of many finance panels including at the 2019 Delivering Alpha Conference,[12] on CNBC with David Faber,[13] on CNBC’s “Closing Bell”,[14] at the Sohn Investment Conference, at the Milken Institute Global Conference[15] and others.
