Reception
Critical response
The newspaper La Nación described the film as "Good", noting that "The plot achieves what it set out to do: entertain with successful gags and funny dialogue and situations."
While the film critic Ezequiel Boetti in EscribiendoCine rated it with a score of 4 out of 10, stating that Dad for a day is "It is a filmic concoction that includes from sports competitions to the worst common places of Argentine cinema.", "a concatenation ad infinitum of the worst vices of national cinema." and negatively highlighted "the thick fibrón with which the scriptwriters wrote the female members of the leading trio".
Also 4 out of 10 was the assessment of Diego Battle in OtrosCines, who pointed out that "the script is by Jorge Maestro and the result is quite disappointing, inferior-to continue with its author- than strips like Pelito. The Golden Rocket Band or Roller Coaster. In this very loose film stereotypes, platitudes, simplifications, superficialities and clichés abound. The plot is uninspired, there is not much grace, neither emotion, nor sensitivity, neither human flesh nor audacity."
For its part, the newspaper Clarín described it as "Regular".
