Deeksha

Deeksha (transl.Initiation) is a 1974 Indian Telugu-language drama film, produced by Koganti Kutumba Rao and Vajje Subba Rao under the Sri Padmaja Films banner[3] and directed by K. Pratyagatma.[4] It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Jamuna, with music composed by Pendyala Nageswara Rao.[5]

Plot

The film begins in a village, where Ramaiah (Jaggayya) a farmer, leads a happy family life with his wife Shanthamma (Anjali Devi), son Raja, daughter Kamala and they contend with their 5-acres land. Zamindar Jaganadham (Prabhakar Reddy), wants to grab Ramaiah's 5 acres for which he lures him a lot, but Ramaiah does not yield. So, he ploy shows fake documents and occupies the land through the court when Ramaiah dies out of the heart attack. Before dying, he takes an oath from Raja to get back their land which becomes his initiation. Parallelly, Linga Murthy the brother of Jaganadham is in his custody for the diamonds which he brought from abroad. In some mysterious circumstances, he meets Raja, reveals the secret and asks him to hand them over to his family and dies. Raja shifts his family to the city and starts working in a garage. There, Jaganadham also snatches his brother's property and make his family orphans. Years roll by, Raja (N. T. Rama Rao) becomes a foreman, but his childhood desire is still burning in his heart and also in search of Lingamurthy's family. Rani (Jamuna) daughter of Jaganadham gets acquaintance with Raja and loves him. Simultaneously, Raja's sister Kamala (K. Vijaya) loves Brahanandam (Raja Babu) the son of Lingamurthy. Raja learns regarding Kamala's love affair, meets Brahmanandam where he recognizes him as Lingamurthy and hands over the diamonds. Now Raja & Brahanandam unite to take avenge against Jaganadham, in disguise as merchants from Burma they segregate all his secrets. Meanwhile, Jaganadham molests a poor girl to teach him a lesson, Raja plays with Rani's fidelity and throws her at his feet. Here Jaganadham is afraid to know Raja as Ramaiah's son and he forcibly gets back his land. Rani gets hurt by Raja's behavior, so, she wants to take revenge against him. Thereafter, Raja moves to occupy his land when Jagannadham attacks, Raja encounters and make him surrender to Police. At last, when Rani is about to kill Raja, she understands the virtue of him and says sorry. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Raja & Rani.
