Dhok Nawan Lok
Dhok Nawan Lok is a town in the Punjab area of Pakistan. It lies 18 kilometers east of Mandi Bahauddin and 0.5 kilometers north of Dhok Kasib.

History
Historically, the town of Dhok Nawan Lok is famous due to the ancient ruins of the old civilization on Tiba. No archaeological surveys have been performed, though the village ruins are thousands of years old. Some local inhabitants participated in the Battle of Chillianwala in 1849.
There Are Eight "Brother Villages" that called by whole "Dhokan Sahian". These Eight Villages are: 1.Dhok Kasib 2.Dhok Nawan Loke and The people of Dhok Nawan Loke had built up Three more new Villages : (a)Dhok Chah Mitha (Near Murala) (b)Dera Tarar (Near Chak Sher Muhammad) (C) Dera Ameer (Near Station Chillian wala) 3.Dhok Malo WALL 4.Dhok Murad 5.Dhok Saharan 6.Dhok Jouri 7.Dhok Daud 8.Dhok Shahani All these Villages have one Union COUNCIL which is "Dhok Kasib ". There are Traditionally Famous Games: 1.Kabadi 2.Hockey 3.Foot Ball 4.Cricket 5. Ghur sawari(Horse Riding) 6. Guli Danda (Nearly Finished) There are Main Crops 'Fruits and vegetables are: Wheat (Locally called "kanak") Rice (Locally called Monji)'Cotton' Sugar Cane (Locally called Gana) And Maize' sweet Corn (Makai )'Bajra'Jawar' onion' Garlic' potatoes 'Turnip 'coriander 'cucomber'Carrot' Brinjal' Turnip 'Doodhi'Radish' Spinach 'melons 'Water melons'orange'Mangoes' Berries'Guava'Bananas' and so many more etc.
People
Dhok Nawan Lok has a population of around 5,000 with a literacy rate of 80%. The main caste in Dhok Nawan Lok are Sahi. The most common industries are agricultural and services related. After 1995, most of the younger people of this town preferred to travel abroad as economic migrants, resulting in approximately 15% of the natives under 35 years of age now residing in Europe and North America.
Economy
The migration of a large portion of the population changed the entire local economy; foreign capital now accounts for around 90 percent of the total income of the town. This has resulted in higher prices for real estate and agricultural property. The price of 1-acre (4,000 m2) of purely agricultural land has increased to around 800,000 Rs. Per acre non-agricultural properties in real estate have also risen to an estimated 3200,000 PK Rs (4,000 m²). The village has approximately 1,500 acres (6.1 km2) of land.
Migration and change
There are enormous effects of overseas migration on the household consumption, Health and Education of village people. Overseas migration and inflow of remittances have brought a significant change not only in economic but also the social status of Dhok Nawan Lok. The direct and immediate effect of overseas migration is on average household consumption. However the cost of migration is relatively higher so majority of overseas migrants does not come from the poorest portion of the village population. Although a certain minimum resources needed to go abroad but a large portion of people did not have the house hold savings so majority of the people borrowed money from their overseas immigrant relatives or sold some of their property.
