E Bukura e Qiellit
E Bukura e Qiellit ("the Beauty of Heaven") — sometimes referred to as a male figure I Bukuri i Qiellit — is an Albanian mythological creature.[1] In modern times I Bukuri i Qiellit is a designation for God in Christian circles in Albania.[2] Her sisters are E Bukura e Dheut ("the Beauty of the Earth") and E Bukura e Detit ("the Beauty of the Sea").[1][3]
History
This myth is believed to originate from the ancient Illyrian era when it was believed that three gods divided themselves into heaven (E Bukura e Qiellit), ocean (E Bukura e Detit) and underworld (E Bukura e Dheut).[2]
