Elsa Wolliaston

Elsa Wolliaston or Elsa Woliaston (born 28 June 1945) is a Jamaican choreographer.

Life

Wolliaston was born in Jamaica. She has lived in France since 1969.[1] She helped develop contemporary African dance, in the 1970s in Europe. With Hideyuki Yano, she founded Ma Danse Rituel Théâtre in 1975. [2] In 1985, she created in Paris the Cie One Step, her current place of creation and teaching. She writes and performs many pieces in collaboration with musicians.[3] She appeared at Festival Avignon.[4]
