Erwin Lang

Erwin Lang (born 22 July 1886 in Vienna; died 10 February 1962 Vienna) was an Austrian painter. His work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1928 Summer Olympics.[1]

Life

Erwin Lang, the son of the social worker and women's rights activist Marie Lang, studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts[2] under Alfred Roller. He exhibited his works for the first time in 1908 at the Vienna Art Show. In 1911 Lang exhibited with Kokoschka and Schiele in an exhibition of the Hagenbund, of which he was a member. One of his main areas were also woodcuts.
