Eye for an Eye (band)

Eye for an Eye (abbreviated EFAE) was a Polish hardcore punk rock band founded in 1997 in Bielsko-Biała. EFAE, as it is also known, played an old school style of punk, more along the veins of The Exploited or even, some say, Agnostic Front. The punk stylings of EFAE has been compared to fellow countrymen Post Regiment, perhaps mostly due to the common factor of a female vocalist. However, EFAE's Anna Koziel's vocal style is remarkably different from the nowadays disbanded Post Regiment's Dominika "Nika" Domczyk's style.

History

Eye For An Eye Was founded in 1997 in Bielsko-Biała, a city in southern Poland. They are not to be confused with the Boston band of the same name, who predated them by roughly ten years.

The band released their first album, Fabryka Drwin, in 2000. The album was self-released, since the band did not have a recording contract at the time. The following albums were released on Pasażer Records. Between 2000 and 2004 the band played over 100 concerts in Europe, mainly in Poland, Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2004 Eye For An Eye released their second album, Dystans. In 2005 the band released a split CD with The Hunkies.

In 2007 the band released the full-length album GRA. In addition, in December 2007 the band released the album as a colored vinyl release.

The latest release is the live album Ostatni, released in 2016 by Campari Records, after the split-up of the band. No upcoming releases have been scheduled so far.

Members

The singer, Anna Koziel, is at times mixed up with Polish jazz vocalist living in the Netherlands Anka Koziel for several reasons; both are female front singers, but mainly due to Anna's nickname; Anka.
