Football at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's qualification (CAF–CONMEBOL play-off)

The CAF–CONMEBOL play-off of the 2020 Women's Olympic Football Tournament qualification competition is an upcoming two-legged home-and-away tie that will decide one spot in the Olympic football tournament in Japan. The play-off will be contested by the runners-up from CAF, Cameroon, and the runners-up from CONMEBOL, Chile. The first leg will be hosted by Cameroon, while the second leg will be hosted by Chile.[1]

Summary

The draw for the order of legs was held on 31 January 2020 at the FIFA headquarters in Zürich, Switzerland. The first leg will be held in Cameroon (the participating team from Africa was not known at the time of draw), while the second leg will be held in Chile.[2][3] The matches were originally scheduled to be played on 9 and 15 April 2020, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] The matches were rescheduled to 18 and 24 February 2021, as the Olympics had been postponed to July 2021.[5] However, FIFA announced on 4 February 2021 that the matches had been further postponed to the women's international match window in April 2021, with exact dates to be confirmed.[6]
