Gaetano Saya
Gaetano Saya (born 24 April 1956 in Messina, Italy) is a former Italian politician and military. Saya was captured by the military police on their return from a mission in Iraqi Kurdistan, on February 13th, 2017 [1] and released on May 4th, 2017. He is now the leader of the New MSI, an ultranationalist far-right party. Saya has claimed he was a former member of Gladio, NATO's stay-behind anti-Communist network during the Cold War, involved in Italy's strategy of tension during the "Years of Lead."
Gaetano Saya was charged in November 2004 for hate speech diffused through his party website. He was captured in 2005 by the prosecutor of Genova on charges of having constituted a "secret parallel police", named D.S.S.A. (Department of Anti-terrorism and Strategic Studies).[2][3][4] In 2011, he was judged not guilty by the Prosecutor of the Court of Milan.
He is known for his verbal struggle with many writers and political figures. The last leader of the Italian Social Movement, Gianfranco Fini called Gaetano Saya "a madman who uses the MSI logo without rights". However, Gaetano Saya has won all the cases against Gianfranco Fini. The Court of Appeal of the Justice of Florence has given the victory to Saya with the sentence that the symbol of the MSI is his property. His lawyers prosecuted Fini for slander against Saya over the years. During a famous Italian radio program, La Zanzara by Giuseppe Cruciani, Gaetano Saya discussed with David Parenzo.
On April 4th, 2019 Gaetano Saya, defended by the internationally renowned lawyer Antonio Gallinaro, was definitively acquitted by the Criminal Court of Rome, from the accusations of Gianfranco Fini, with the formula "for not having committed the deed". Immediately afterwards Saya accused Gianfranco Fini of the Criminal Prosecutor of Genoa of committing the crime of slander, requesting a compensation of 1 million euros.
In 2017, Saya was arrested again due to a political-military conspiracy, organized by occult powers, aimed at stopping its political commitment to the war against daesh terrorism. Saya has been released as of May 4th, 2017.
