Gene Johns
Harold Gene Johns (October 6, 1927 – August 11, 1984) was an American politician.
Johns was born in Carrier Mills, Illinois and went to the public schools in Harrisburg, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy Air Corps. Johns graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1952. Johns lived in Marion, Illinois with his wife and family. He worked in the petroleum business. Johns served in the Illinois Senate from 1971 until his death in 1984. He was a Democrat. Johns died from cancer at the Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.[1][2]
