Gijs Blom

Gijsbrecht Thijmen Matthias "Gijs" Blom (born January 2, 1997) is a Dutch actor. He is known for playing Sieger in the 2014 drama film Jongens.[1]

Career

Between 2007 and 2009, he starred in the musical Ciske de Rat. In 2011, Gijs Blom earned his first film role in the feature film Sonny Boy, by Maria Peeters. In 2012, he played small roles in the films "Urfeld" and "Eine Frau verschwindet", the latter a German production. He also played the lead role in the movie Jongens, with the character Sieger, his best known work then. In 2014 together with his friends and family, he produced a short film called "Escapade",[2] where he plays Thijmen, who is purposely his middle name. Other notable works include Olivier in the film Kankerlijers and Carlo in the film Nena by Saskia Diesing. In 2014, Gijs Blom is in the cast of the movie Analgesics, based on the book by Carry Slee. In production, he plays the character Casper. The film premiered in September 2014.[3]
