Gilbert Droz
Gilbert Droz (14 February 1928 Neuchâtel, Switzerland – 25 May 1994) was a Swiss former international football referee.[1]
Career
He officiated 2 international matches and was FIFA referee in 1967–1969. He attributed a match in 1970 World Cup qualifying a[2] and a match in 1968 European Championship quarter final[3] He also gave a red card in 1969 WC qualifying match between Germany-Scotland (3:2) to Scottish Tommy Gemmell in 85th minute because of revenge foul.[4][5]
Gilbert Droz also officiated club football matches such as European Champion Clubs' Cup (5), Intertoto-Cup (1). He also officiated 74 matches in Swiss Super League between 1963–64 and 1970–71. He gave in this matches only red card and appointed 14 penalty kickes. Droz attributed 1969 Swiss Cup Final between St.Gallen-AC Bellinzona (2-0).
After his active international career, he joined the UEFA Referee Inspectors Group.
