Grupo Positivo

Grupo Positivo is a Brazilian holding company headquartered in the city of Curitiba, Brazil. Apart from acting in the technology sector through Positivo Tecnologia, it also has significant presence in the areas of private education, printing, and publishing. It is also responsible for the editing of the Aurélio Dictionary since 2003.[3]

Positivo was born in 1972 from the ideal of a group of teachers led by Oriovisto Guimarães. [4] Initially focusing on teaching preparatory courses to the Brazilian university entry exam, it has since then expanded into the areas of higher education, IT services, printing and publishing, technology and entertainment. The following companies and institutions are part of Grupo Positivo:

  • Positivo Tecnologia: Technology arm of the group. It is the largest computer manufacturer in Latin America and the tenth largest in the world.
  • Universidade Positivo: Private university. Currently offers 27 undergraduate programs, a doctoral program, three master's degree programs, and extension courses.
  • Posigraf: Publisher and print shop of Positivo Group. One of the largest printing plants in Latin America.
  • Teatro Positivo: The biggest theatre in the state of Paraná. Hosts a wide range of events.
  • Editora Positivo: Publishing arm of the group.
