Hartoft
Hartoft is a hamlet in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) north-northwest from Pickering.[1] The nearest village, Rosedale Abbey, is situated 1.8 miles (3 km) away.[2]

It is again met with in "Hartoft Vale," about two miles to the south-east of Rosedale Abbey, where i* has been lately opened out, and although there is a great thickness of it there also, only about three feet of it appears to be of average quality.
