Ian Kelsey
Ian Kelsey (born 17 December 1966) is an English actor. He is best known for his roles as Dave Glover in ITV soap Emmerdale, Matt Brewer in Down to Earth, Patrick Spiller in BBC Continuing Drama Casualty and Howard Bellamy in the daytime soap opera Doctors, and for his 6-year-long role as Detective Inspector Richard Mayne in the TV crime series Blue Murder alongside Caroline Quentin. He also played Vinny Ashford in ITV's Coronation Street in 2016 and 2017.

Early life
Kelsey started his working life as an apprentice coach builder at York railway carriage works.
Kelsey trained at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York and graduated at the Guildford School of Acting.
Career
His first credited role was Narmco Clerk in the 1993 television mini-series Wild Justice. Since then, he has gone on to play Dave Glover in Emmerdale and had a cameo role in BBC TV comedy series Men Behaving Badly.
He joined BBC One medical drama Casualty in 1999, in a three-year stint as Dr. Patrick Spiller. During this period he also appeared in BBC1 drama Down to Earth as Matt Brewer (series 3–4) during 2003 and 2004. Kelsey has appeared in Touching Evil, Liam Taylor in Murder in Mind, and appearing in a major role for six years as DI Richard Mayne in crime drama Blue Murder. After leaving Casualty in 2006, Kelsey had acting roles in the BBC1 late-night drama Hotel Babylon and then in the ITV1 Sunday evening drama Where the Heart Is, playing Jack Clayton. This was his second role in the show as in 2005 he played a different character, Adam Miller. In late 2006 he appeared on stage in the London West End theatre production of Chicago. In 2008, he appeared on the BBC film Dustbin Baby.
On 3 September 2010 he guest starred in the BBC soap opera Doctors. Kelsey was also in Black Beauty as Joe Green (older). On 9 December 2009 Kelsey appeared on magazine show This Morning, talking to presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about his upcoming stint in long-running ITV1 police drama The Bill. On 7 May 2012 it was announced that Kelsey would be joining Doctors as new practice manager Howard Bellamy, replacing departing long-running character Julia Parsons. He made his first appearance on 28 May 2012.[1] Kelsey left medical drama on screen on 22 October 2015, to join Patrick Robinson in the UK touring stage production tour of The Shawshank Redemption.[2]
Kelsey joined Coronation Street in August 2016 playing the part of Vinny, an acquaintance of villain Pat Phelan.
