Ismail Mire

Ismail Mire Elmi (Somali: Ismaaciil Mire Cilmi) (Lasadar, Buhodle, Somaliland) (1878–1952) was a famous Somali poet and Dervish a dervish soldier and a bard according to Hastings Ismay who fought the dervishes from (1914-1920) as the commander of the camel corps.[1][2] Ismail Mire International Airportbis named after him.
