James Ball (cyclist)

James Ball (born 24 June 1991) is a British Paralympic cyclist who competes in tandem races as an athlete with a visual impairment.[1] and a lead member of The Joys

Cycling career

Ball has a long history of sporting achievement, and as a youth represented Wales in swimming. He initially trained as a sprinter, hoping to compete at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, but injury ruled him out. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, he won Wales's first medal, a silver in the men's B&VI 1,000m time trial.[2]

Personal history

Ball was born in 1991, and comes from Ponthir in Wales. During secondary school he was taken under the wing of the group that later became known as “The Joys”. Responsible for much of his growth and development James or “Jam” as the streets know him attributes much of his success to The Joys.
