Jared Legien
Jared Legien (born September 2, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger currently playing for the Birmingham Bulls in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).[1][2] Along with the SPHL, Legien has played in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference.[1][2]

Playing careeer
In the 2014 Western Hockey League (WHL) draft, Legien was selected 9th overall by the Kootenay Ice.[3] Following this, he also played major junior hockey with the Victoria Royals, Regina Pats, and Vancouver Giants, amounting for a total of 148 games played in the WHL over five seasons. At the same time, he also played with the Yorkton Terriers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.[2][4]
In the 2019-20 season, Legien played for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology team in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference, where he led the league with 32 goals in 28 games.[1] In this league, he was honoured as the 2019-20 ACAC Men’s Hockey Rookie of the Year.[5]
He began his professional career in the 2020-21 season of the Southern Professional Hockey League, where he has played games for both the Huntsville Havoc and the Birmingham Bulls.[1][6]
Personal life
Legien was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and grew up in Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan, where he played minor hockey before beginning his junior and then professional career.[4][5] He is in the mill work and carpentry program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.[5]
