Javed Malik

Javed Malik is a diplomat and noted media personality who served as Pakistan's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain between 2015[2][3] and 2018, and the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Trade and Investment between 2013[4][5] and 2018. Earlier, Malik also served as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large for Overseas Pakistanis between 2008 and 2011.[6] Currently he is the President of International Diplomat Forum based out of London, Dubai and Islamabad.

Career

Diplomacy

In 2008, the Prime Minister of Pakistan appointed Javed Malik as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large with the status of a minister. In this capacity, he advised and assisted the Prime Minister on issues relating to Overseas Pakistanis. Malik went on to initiate various trade and economic diplomacy initiatives aimed at promoting the business trade and investments opportunities in Pakistan.[7][8] He established the Overseas Pakistanis forum, which held its first session in the UAE.[9] As part his mandate to build international support for Pakistan, the Friends of Democratic Pakistan Conference was organised in Islamabad nder the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister and in which British and European Parliamentarians especially participated and expressed their support for Pakistan.[10]

In 2013, Malik was appointed as Pakistan's Special Envoy to the GCC. with the rank of an Ambassador by the Prime Minister, and given a mandate to promote business, trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan. In this capacity, he initiated a series of activities and encouraged international investors to visit Pakistan.,[11][12] and organised a number of seminars, conferences to highlight trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan.[13][14] [15][16]

In 2015, Javed Malik was appointed as Pakistan's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During his tenure the relations between Pakistan and Bahrain were upgraded to a Joint Ministerial Commission which agreed to expand the diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between both countries.[17][18]

Media

Malik has been associated with print and television media since 1999, and is a prominent political and international affairs analyst. He began his television career in London with Prime TV and later with ARY News, where he hosted, "Insight" - An Current Affairs talk show for more than ten years.[19] He is also associated with Geo News / Jang Group and writes for their publications, The News International[20] and Daily Jang.[21] He also writes for the Middle East publication, Khaleej Times.[22]

Malik is the President and Publisher of The International Diplomat', a current affairs magazine.[23]
