Jeremy Watson
Jeremy Daniel McKendrick Watson CBE FREng is a professor of engineering systems at University College London, UK. He was formerly the president of IET.[1]

Early life
Watson studied electronics at the University of London from 1972 - 1974. He completed his masters degree in cybernetics in 1976. In 1982, he completed his PhD degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Sussex, UK.[2]
Career
Watson was Arup's global research director and chief scientific advisor for the UK Department of Communities and Local Government.[3] He later joined UCL as a faculty and became a professor of engineering systems.[4] Concurrently, he is the chief scientist of BRE Group, UK.[5] He is also a visiting professor at University of Southampton, UK.[6] He is also a director of PETRAS - a consortium of researchers working on making Internet of Things safe and secured.[7]
Awards
Watson was elected to the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2010.[8] He was awarded a CBE by the Queen for services to engineering in 2013.[9]
