Jess Bond

Jessica Anne Bond (born Jessica Manafort;[1] June 13, 1982)[2] is an American director, screenwriter and producer known for her 2007 film Remember the Daze.

Career

In 2007, Bond directed the film Remember the Daze starring Amber Heard, Brie Larson, and Leighton Meester. The film premiered at the 2007 Los Angeles Film Festival under the title The Beautiful Ordinary.[3]

Bond's follow up film Rosy was released via video-on-demand in 2018. The film starred Stacy Martin as an actress and Nat Wolff as a man obsessed with her.[4]

Personal life

Bond is the daughter of American lobbyist and campaign manager Paul Manafort. In 2018, she announced she was changing her last name both professionally and legally from Manafort to her mother's maiden name, Bond, in order to distance herself from her father after his conviction.[5] From 2013 to 2017, she was married to real estate developer Jeffrey Yohai.[6] In April 2017, Genesis Capital sued Yohai and Jessica Manafort, alleging that they breached guarantees tied to real estate loans, including the unpaid loan on the Blue Jay Way property. Genesis was seeking damages of $21.2 million, according to its complaint. [7]On November 8th, 2019, Jeffrey Yohai, Paul Manafort’s former son-in-law was sentenced to more than nine years in prison for a wide-ranging series of fraud schemes the court said bilked victims out of more than $6 million. He was ordered a total of $6.7 million in restitution. Among those swindled by Yohai was the award-winning actor Dustin Hoffman and Guy Aroch, a prominent photographer, who both invested millions in real estate deals with Yohai. [8]The prosecutors’ sentencing filing for Yohai says he tried to tamper with the testimony of witnesses against him via “coded” phone calls with his ex-wife Jessica Manafort (now Jess Bond) in October 2018, while he was in a county jail. Prosecutors say Yohai called Bond to inform her that one charge he was facing was for pawning expensive musical equipment that belonged to someone else, and that his associates should say that Yohai wound up with the gear in exchange for a security deposit. Jessica Bond called back later to say Yohai’s cohorts were trying to convince the owner of the gear to say that, the FBI’s Ebadi wrote in a court filing. Bond has not been charged in the case.[9]
