Playing career
Blichfeld spent two seasons playing junior ice hockey with the Malmö Redhawks organization, and then joined the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League, and was named player of the year for that league for the 2018–19 season.[2]
He made his NHL debut on 12 December 2019 against the New York Rangers.[3]
With the 2020–21 North American season delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Blichfeld remained in his native Denmark and was loaned by the Sharks to make his debut in the Danish Metal Ligaen with hometown club, Frederikshavn White Hawks, on 27 October 2020.[4] In 12 contests with the White Hawks, Blichfeld contributed offensively, leading the club during his tenure with 12 points before returning to the Sharks organization in preparation for training camp.
