José Padilla Sr.
José "Peping" Galvez Padilla Sr. (October 30, 1888 – August 13, 1945) also known by his screen name of Mario de Cordova, was a Filipino actor, lawyer and politician.

Personal life
Padilla was born José Galvez Padilla on October 30, 1888, in Quinga (now Plaridel), Bulacan[1] to Pedro Ortiz Padilla and Monica Galvez. According to his grandson, Robin Padilla, the Padilla family ancestry may be traced to Seville and Toledo.[2]
Padilla served as Representative of the 1st district of Bulacan from 1931–1934.[1] He then became the Governor of Bulacan from 1928 to 1931, and again from 1934 to 1937.[1]
Padilla's offspring have become famous in the field of show business, politics, sports and others.
Padilla has at least a dozen children[3] including actors Jose "Pempe" Padilla Jr., Carlos Padilla Sr., actresses Cristina Aragon, Pilar Padilla (wife of Gregorio Fernandez), film director Consuelo Padilla-Osorio, diplomat and actor Amado Cortez, and Casimero "Roy" Padilla Sr., former Governor of Camarines Norte.[3][4]
