Joseph Scanlon
Joseph J. Scanlon (April 3, 1924 – September 13, 1970)[2] was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 4th district from 1969 to 1970.[3]

Early life and education
He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia and attended Temple University. His father, Joseph A. Scanlon, was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the Philadelphia County district from 1935 to 1952.
He died in office in 1970[4] at Temple University Hospital while undergoing treatment for diabetes.[5] He is interred at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania.[4]
