Keishi Ōtomo
Keishi Ōtomo (大友啓史, Ōtomo Keishi) (b. Morioka, 26 May 1966) is a Japanese film and television director and screenwriter, most known for the Rurouni Kenshin film series.

Life and career
Ōtomo graduated from the Faculty of Law of Keio University and then joined national broadcaster NHK in 1990, working at the drama production department. There he was given the chance to study in the United States from 1997 to 1999, sponsored by his employer. He attended the University of Southern California, studying directing and scriptwriting. Upon returning to Japan, he directed several television series for NHK, some of which won several awards in and outside of Japan, as well. In 2011, he left NHk and founded his own production company.[1][2][3][4][5]
