Grade Inflation

On September 13, 2018, Global News reported that King's Christian Collegiate was ranked seventh on an internal University of Waterloo list of high schools known for inflating students' grades.

This list of high schools, obtained under the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (Ontario), indicated that King's Christian Collegiate inflated grades by 25.5% in 2016, 22.3% in 2017, and 23% in 2018. On average, these rates of grade inflation were 7% higher than the typical Ontario high school.[4]

As such, King's students applying to the University of Waterloo Faculty of Engineering incur a greater adjustment to their admission average than do students from a typical Ontario high school.
