Kokchetav Oblast
Kokchetav Oblast (Kazakh: Көкшетау облысы; Russian: Кокчетавская о́бласть, Kokchetavskaya Oblast) was an oblast (a first-level administrative and municipal unit) of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic in the Soviet Union, established on March 16, 1944.[1] Upon Kazakhstan's independence in 1991, the oblast continued to exist until 1997.

Its seat was in the city of Kokchetav.
History
Kokchetav Oblast was established on 16 March 1944 on the lands that previously belonged to North Kazakhstan and Akmola Regions.[2]
