Kortgene
Kortgene is a village in the southwest Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Noord-Beveland, Zeeland, about 15 km northeast of Middelburg.

In 2001, the village of Kortgene had 1188 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.35 km², and contained 561 residences.[1] The statistical area "Kortgene", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 2000.[2]
History
Kortgene received city rights in 1431. It was also the name of a municipality containing nearby villages Colijnsplaat and Kats until 1995, when it merged with municipality Wissenkerke into the new municipality of Noord-Beveland.[3]
