Korzár (meaning Corsair in English)[1] is a regional newspaper published in Košice, Slovakia.

History and profile
The newspaper was established in 1998. At the initial stage, the paper was named Korzo and was renamed later as Korzár.[2] It is headquartered and published in Košice.[3] The paper was published in broadsheet format.[4] Then it switched to the tabloid format.[5]
Korzár is the largest and only regional publication of Slovakia.[6] It covers news on eastern Slovakia and has the highest circulation in the region.[6][7] It is published in four regional editions.[6] The editor-in-chief of the daily is Peter Bercik,[7] and the publisher is the Petit Press publishing house.[8][9] The Petit Press also publishes SME and Új Szó among the others.[1][10][11]
Korzár has a right-wing political leaning.[1]
The paper had a circulation of 33,000 copies in 2003[4] and 30,000 copies in 2004.[12] The audited circulation of the paper was 27,231 copies in 2008.[1] In 2011 the paper had a circulation of 20,000 copies. It was 15,713 copies in 2013.[1] The same year its readership was at 5 percent.[13]
